Are you looking for an opportunity to make Jackson a better place to live, learn new basic construction and environmental work skills, earn a living stipend and nationally-recognized credentials, and have fun doing it? Refill Jackson Initiative will be launching a new workforce training AmeriCorps program in September 2024, and we want you! Refill Jackson Green Corps is a 5-month, team-based environmental workforce training AmeriCorps program serving West Jackson. While serving as a Green Corps AmeriCorps member, members will:

  • Gain work experience while completing environmental and disaster response projects
  • Earn a $5,000 living stipend while serving
  • Receive a $1,956 Segal Education Award upon successful completion of the program
  • Earn credentials such as OSHA-10, Water Quality Monitoring, Tool and Worksite Safety, and First Aid & CPR
  • Be eligible for student loan deferment and forbearance while serving

Refill Jackson Green Corps is an AmeriCorps Mississippi program – AmeriCorps is the federal agency for national service and volunteerism. AmeriCorps provides opportunities for Americans of all backgrounds to serve their country, address the nation’s pressing challenges, improve lives and community, and strengthen civic engagement. To serve as an AmeriCorps member, participants must be 18 or older, be a US citizen, US national, or lawful permanent resident, and have a high school diploma, GED, or agree to work toward one while serving in AmeriCorps.
