Which certifications can I earn through this program?
All members will earn the Smart Start Certificate by completing the program. Depending on your WorkKeys assessment score, you can earn a Smart Start Credential and the National Career Readiness Certificate. You may have the opportunity to earn other certificates/credentials in your fields of interest.

How much can I earn through this program?
Members receive a weekly stipend over the course of the program, and may be eligible to receive additional supportive benefits as needed. Members and alumni are also eligible to earn post-program employment  incentives. More detail will be provided during your interview.

How often are trainings held?
We plan to hold four nine-week trainings in 2024. The schedule is as follows:

  • January 22 to March 22;
  • April 15 to June 14;
  • July 16 to September 13; and
  • October 8 to December 6.

How many people are accepted into each training?
A typical cohort consists of 12 to 10 members at a time.

What happens after the training?
During the program, you develop your plan for after graduation—that might include one or more of the following: a paid internship, regular employment, or further education.
Financial awards are offered to graduates who maintain employment or pursue their education after graduation.

How long is the training program?
The training program lasts nine weeks. Members must be able to commit to Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

What are the eligibility requirements?

  • Must be between the ages of 18 and 24.
  • Must be willing to commit to nine consecutive weeks of training (Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.).
  • Must have childcare arrangements, if applicable.

Is there an application fee or a cost to participate?
There is no application fee. There is no cost to participate.

Am I eligible to apply to this program if I have a criminal record?
Yes.

Can I complete part of the training?
In most cases, in order to graduate, you must complete the entire training program.

Where is the training held?
Trainings are held at our building, which is located at 136 South Adams Street in Jackson, as well as external sites for on-the-job training.

What happens after I attend the informational session or submit my interest form?
Every applicant must participate in an in-person interview. After filling out the interest form, a Refill staff member will contact you to set up an in-person interview. The interview is a competitive process. You will be scored based on your ability to commit, your level of motivation and open-mindedness, how well you work on a team, and the number and type of identity documents in your possession. Acceptance is based on your score and whether or not we have open slots available.

What safety precautions is Refill taking for COVID-19?
Refill has lifted the mask mandate and increased cohort capacity to 12 at a time. We encourage mask wearing and social distancing, but masks are not required at this time.
